Vadh is basically a mini Drishyam with an interesting script and no mind-blowing twists or anything.
If you know the story of Drishyam, you can tell what is going to happen in this movie without even seeing its trailer. Desperate killing followed by a game of hide and seek and a final twist that is completely ordinary and predictable. So vadh does not offer anything new if you have seen Drishyam. Actually Drishyam is a much better product.
The performances, however, are wonderful. Sanjay Mishra owns this movie. He is the same as AD in Drishyam, but here Sanjay is a more desperate father. His desperate desire to help is expressed so beautifully. The helplessness of him and his wife Nina Gupta whenever a gangster comes to their house is well shown. Manav Vij as SP is good.
It’s a bit shaky in parts. Their son’s character is too artificial in this era. I don’t think a child today will just brush off their parents’ problems, even if they ask for help. He is simply there to evoke emotions. His character is quite far from reality. Also, we are never shown but just have to believe that Sanjay Mishra took a loan from a gangster, probably to send his son to the US. How he met this crook, we don’t know. These are some loose ends left.
Overall, it’s a decent interesting watch, but considering we already have Drishyam, this movie will be overshadowed by it as there’s nothing extraordinary about the story.
