In 1989, Jayalalithaa (pronounced Jaya), a member of the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu asked the current chief minister, M. Ramachandran, as a person who has truly served the people. However, the opposition questioned his relationship with MGR, leading to a controversy after Jaya was slapped. Some ruling party MPs are trying to free Jaya; comparing Draupadi, Jaya promises that she will return to the session only after becoming the Chief Minister.
In 1965, MGR was at the peak of his film career; Producer RM Veerappan burns Saroja Devi and even burns all the features of her character in his next film after she shows love to MGR as Veerappan believes that MGR should remain single to maintain the popular perception of him as a “god”. Back in 1990, a truck ran into Jaya’s car as part of a conspiracy against her and her aide Sasikala. Despite his condition, he is able to campaign. Sasikala conveys a note to Jaya during her campaign, only to learn of Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination. After the campaign, his party won almost all the seats. Finally, he enters the legislature again as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and gets the respect he deserves.
